Palmerston North Painters

Victor The Painter

Recently, we had the honour of helping out one of our friends down south with some work. Victor runs a and whenever we had work down there we referred his name on as he does excellent work.

We had a client that was facing issues with a painter and their painting job in Palmerston North. They reached out stating they needed a painter urgently after getting their time wasted from Seven other painting providers and so they started to get desperate. The work was already running behind the time frame and the young mother with 3 kids living in the house didn’t have a functioning laundry. This project had to be completed swiftly, yesterday if possible to get every one’s lives normal again.

We knew just the man for the job and called Victor to come help her out. Here’s Victor’s account of the story.

Laundry Job In Palmerston North

We had a great deal on that week but with some inventive maneuvering and pulling in a favour and passing a lead onto another nearby painter pal of ours, we were able to fit Maggie in and make them our number one priority. We all got families and fundamental humans needs so it’s easy to relate with the emergency taking place and pulling in all the stops to help someone out. Additionally those couch potato tradies that squandered her time mired the great rep of workmen across New Zealand, so that it wasn’t merely a personal mission, it was a mission to revive our shared reputation.

Having cleared up our schedule we found out that we were able to stop by and produce our well known Palmerston North painter service earlier than expected. Very first thing the very next day actually, small miracle actually – much to the home owners and Maggie’s delight. From time to time its the small things that makes being a painter well worth it. Witnessing the smiles on their faces made dropping some work and pulling favours totally worth it.

When I got to the job I quickly learned why the previous painter’s didn’t want to touch it. The walls were very rough with a lot of new plaster needing to be applied and sanded before any painting could begin.

Employment in the painter marketplace can rapidly bite you in the bum and you find yourself investing cash on a job rather than making it which is the nightmare of every kiwi tradie, of every tradie alive really. When you are a private business owner and operator, each and every expense, every job not paid can be the end of your company. With those pleasant ideas in my head, we stuck in and started work so we could actually begin the real work of painting the laundry and getting it working again.

Painting Work Going Well

Fast forward a couple of days and we got nearly all of the initial work sorted and essentially ready for the real work to begin. Time really does fly when you’re making an effort and paying attention to the task at hand. It stops your brain from wandering and thinking about unnecessary things like cricket scores or contemplating life’s great secrets like can cats fly?

By the preparation just about all sorted we could finally settle in to the real work and get  the painting done that we came here to do. The prep worked helped a good deal with the job as we had a perfect smooth surface to apply our primer and undercoat to. I left my dehumidifier on over night and by the next morning, it was all dry and ready for paint!

Maggie chose a vibrant turquoise blue to contrast with the red doors she picked up from the demolition yard. It wouldn’t be my first choice of colour but the customer is always right! We got 3 coats of paint applied and were just doing the final touches.

A couple of hours later we got it all done and dusted, I let Maggie know they’re able to have the other boys in to finish off and get the house back to normal.

And that had been just one more routine week in the life of . The life of a painter is undoubtedly a diversified and interesting one, as the next job diary will show.

Local Auckland Mover Helps Family

Today’s day recap is at Hobonsville Auckland and we are helping one of our clients move out from their home. Their initial decided not to show and so they desperately needed a Auckland mover to come help. They were ready to move out and after two hours, the booked moving service never showed. With all the house already packed and ready for the move, our client was stuck and desperately needed to move that day!

Upon hearing this, we called Jaime from Pro Moving Services to see if he could help move this family across Auckland to Ponsonby. Within ten minutes Jaime organised his moving team and a furniture moving truck to help move the family.

Jaime from Pro Moving Services said this; “It was not particularly simple trying to slip this new project into our work schedule but every day life is jam packed with such little circumstances. We all got families and fundamental humans needs so it’s not hard to connect with the situation going on and pulling in all the stops to support someone out. Additionally those unreliable movers that wasted the families time mired the good reputation of furniture movers all around New Zealand, therefore it wasn’t simply a personal mission, it was a mission to restore our shared reputation.

With that all sorted, we were free to carry out our trustworthy Auckland mover service. First thing the following hour actually, small wonder really – much to the homeowners delight. From time to time it is the small things which makes being a furniture mover well worth it. Seeing the smiles on their faces made dropping some work and pulling favours easier to swallow.

Like all great do, we had a good long yarn before getting to work to suss out properly what would have to be done first. It’s all good going in gung-ho and attacking the issue straight away but that is how you end up screwing something up hugely and that stuff leads to costly mistakes. I didn’t want this furntiure moving job in Hobsonville to go badly just as any other job that Pro Moving Services does, I take pride in the business and our service history. So yes, we had a good long chat and identified a plan of attack. Most of the upstairs furniture could go down the stairs no problem so we didnt need to setup our outdoor crane. With our plan sorted, we attacked the furniture moving.

Skip ahead a couple of hours and we got nearly all of the boxes taken care of and basically ready for the real work to begin. Time really does fly when you’re making an effort and focusing on the work at hand. It stops your thoughts from wandering and thinking about unneccassary things such as the furntiure moving truck needing a new diesel filter or pondering life’s great mysteries like what should I get for lunch? Getting stuck in is a good thing from time to time.

Moving the grand piano from the top floor was quite a mission, especially because the stairs were so narrow. Props to whoever got it up there in the first place! We eventually managed to wrap it fully in moving blankets and shifted it down the stairs inch of agonizing inch. No damage done to the property or the furniture! That’s why clients love us.

At around 2pm we had it nearly done and moved the furniture into the new house. This home in Ponsonby had much easier access with only a single floor so it wasn’t much of an issue moving the furniture and grand piano back in.””

So that was our story with the Richards family from Hobsonville. We are so pleased that Pro Moving Services was able to save the day and get them moved in as planned.

What’s Happening In The Market?

For the past 5 to 6 years we’ve experienced arguably the best period of sustained growth and activity in the residential property market that New Zealand has known – it couldn’t last forever! Is it now all doom and gloom? Far from it! Like all changes in the market, this market will soon find its new level. We go through this process each time there is a shift, it’s a process of adjustment.

The adjustments that are currently taking place are:

• Sellers are coming to terms with the fact that there are more properties for sale and fewer buyers. The competition to attract a buyer and secure a sale is greater now that is has been for a long time.

• Values are not increasing at the rate they were. The market is far more “price sensitive” than it was. Buyers are taking longer to make their purchasing decision, and are not afraid to walk away from the negotiating table, knowing that there are other properties to choose from.

• Enquiry and buyer activity levels have decreased. Sellers are not receiving the same levels of buyer inspections that there were, particularly in the higher price ranges. Weeks without any buyer activity can sometimes make the sellers quite despondent and sometimes agitated. Patience and persistence are requirements of the new market.

• Buyers waiting for the market to collapse so that they can buy some bargains will be disappointed. Market conditions are becoming more favourable for the buyers but a market collapse is extremely unlikely.

• More properties to select from and an increase in negotiating strength will be the real benefits to the buyers in the new market.

• Appreciating the changes that are taking place in the market, what does this mean for us and our clients?

• The majority of the Real Estate salespeople in New Zealand have never experienced this type of market place we now have. Our new market requires a different set of skills, adjustments to marketing strategies and listing/customer management. The value and effectiveness of a good salesperson will now be far more critical than it has been previously to sellers. Being more challenging to achieve a sale at the best possible price, will mean salespeople with the best skills, marketing, support, attitudes and ethics will become more sought after by genuine sellers.

• Pricing and marketing will have to be far more accurate. Buyers will want to negotiate with sellers that are realistically priced, and salespeople will need to be far more innovative with their marketing programmes.

• Constant reviewing and adjustment in this competitive market, if the buyer enquiry and activity is not happening, means you cannot afford to keep doing the same thing. Review the pricing, marketing strategy or method to ensure that the property does receive buyer attention and activity.

Home & Leisure Show

The Coopers team were pleased to be a part of this years show. We were there with our spinning wheel to collect money for charity.

Our two chosen charities, The SPCA and Hospice, were delighted to have us fundraise for them over the three busy days.

For a small donation everyone at the home show was able to spin the wheel and win something. We had children eyeing up our chocolate bars attached to the wheel while their parents had their eye on the big prizes like our family passes from Skyline Skyrides or Dry cleaning vouchers from Rotorua Drycleaners as well as many more vouchers and donated prizes from the generous businesses in town that helped us.

Coopers want to thank all the businesses that made this possible and to everyone who had a spin of our wheel.

We were delighted to make $1,005.50 for The SPCA and $704.50 for Hospice.
